#Audiobook #Review: Connections in Death by J.D. Robb

Eve and Roarke have added another soul to their "family" - this time its significant other of Crack (of the sex club) and new head therapist for Roarke and Eve's home for troubled girls. Rochelle Pickering is a sweet and caring character, and when her younger brother is killed, the team jumps right in to take care of one of their own, even if she is new to the clan. I think Rochelle will make a nice addition to the series - one who will likely remain on the fringes rather than becoming a major player like Peabody, Mira, Nadine, etc.

Polaris Rising is the first installment of the Consortium Rebellion series, and debut novel for Jessie Mihalik. This author is definitely starting off with a bang, and did a great job of mixing action with romance to keep the plot moving in this space opera sci-fi novel.

The Highland Brides is one of my favorite historical romance series, and I always get excited when a new one is coming out. The Buchanan brood is so fun and boisterous, with sassy and relatable women that find themselves in dangerous situations more often than not. The Wrong Highlander is no exception, and follows the same light-hearted suspense format of the previous books.

The Lost Plot is the fourth installment of Genevieve Cogman's unique and fascinating The Invisible Library series. The release of this book snuck by me, and I didn't realize it was out until I went to read the ARC of the next book, The Mortal Word. So I listened to this one on my recent road trip over the holidays, and it made the drive home go by relatively painlessly.

This review is super late, and you may have noticed that I haven't posted in a while... but my work life has been absolutely nuts for the last couple months and I haven't been able to read much at all. I miss it! So I apologize to Jeaniene and Avon for my tardiness. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Avon.

It's unfortunate that it took me so long to be able to read this first installment of the Night Rebel series, as I am absolutely gaga for our fun-loving, yet vulnerable hero, Ian. I knew, after the conclusion of the Night Prince series, that Ian's story was going to be spectacular. So I do suggest you read that series (along with Night Huntress) first, so you have the full backstory of what's going on. If you haven't read those series, be advised that this review may contain spoilers for those previous series.

I was so excited to hear about a new dark romantic suspense from Aleatha Romig, as I love her dark and twisty stories. Karen Rose has been on my TBR for such a long time... but I never quite knew where to start and was daunted by the back list, fearing that I would need to read from the beginning to understand what was going on. But I decided to just jump in here with the first in a mini-series (#1 in Baltimore series), but which is actually #12 in Rose's Romantic Suspense collection. I am happy to report that I was able to jump in just fine without feeling lost or not knowing who long-standing characters were. So if you are trying to get your feet wet in the Rose water like me, come on in, temperature is fine! The Forbidden Door is the fourth installment of the exciting and suspense-filled Jane Hawk series. I thought this was going to be the last book, but was uber happy to discover that there will be at least one more! The writing in this series is classic Dean Koontz - great action, suspense, a little sci-fi, and a corrupt government organization to rail against.
