Dirty Together is the final book in The Dirty Billionaire Trilogy and should be read following Dirty Billionaire and Dirty Pleasures. 

Dirty Together is the final installment of the Dirty Billionaire Serial/Novella Trilogy. After so much back and forth in the first two installments, I was ready for everything to be tied up into a HEA in this conclusion.

This one picks up right where Dirty Pleasures left off. Holly has run off from Creighton. Again. And she can't believe she has done it. Well, honey, neither could I. I am just not a fan of serial runners. I can usually forgive it once... but the second time pretty much writes off a character for me. Especially when the heroine in question displays a lack of maturity and consideration as Holly did with her two word notes. Holly turned into a heroine that made me feel old with her repetitive adequacy issues, running off, getting drunk with a cute bad boy, and talking about "going to brown town" which only served to make me think of the huge burger and cheese fries she just ate before said "brown town" activities. Not sexy. Though Holly did redeem herself a bit when she finally grew up and decided to fight for her relationship. From that point on, I had no complaints about her.

Despite it being Holly that messed up this time, it was still Crey that had to go chasing after her and dote on her to "prove" himself. I hated that he had to go to these lengths, but it also made me lose a little respect for him. He was definitely more invested in the relationship than Holly seemed to be. I also hated that everyone seemed to blame Creighton for Holly's immature behavior that was causing the relationship problems. That aside, I was happy that we finally got some of Crey's back story. He had a heartwrenching childhood that tugged at the emotional strings. From Creighton's persona at the beginning of the series, he has done a complete 180 in the way he thinks of women and relationships. He has become a dirty domineering man that any girl would be proud to drag down the aisle.

I would have liked a little more detail on the Annika situation. I was hoping for an explanation as to why Crey became an unemotional manwhore, and thought it would come with the revelation of the that relationship. I just can't stand catty bitches like Annika, so I would have loved to see her get a visit from the ol' karma train.

The drama between Crey and his uncle comes to a head and I was enjoying the plot conflict that involved the shareholder derivative lawsuit and all the legal aspects. But that could just be the attorney in me. Though the plot twist that ensued threw me out of the story and didn't quite fit in with the storyline. I can't say it wasn't interesting though - and it was certainly unexpected.

Overall - I would rate the series as a whole at 3.5 stars. If I would read all three installments one after the other, it would probably have been rated higher. That is my usual problem with serials, by reading an unfinished story in parts, it makes me focus more on the aspects I didn't like than being able to remember the parts that I did.

When a couple friends talk me into going back to their hometown in the Bayou for the summer and challenge me to break “the best damn lay in Galveston County” along with every single one of his ridiculous rules, I’m confident that I can get the job done. I’m no stranger to men. I have five older brothers. I’m a teacher and I’m used to being around rebellious teenagers. However, Zeke Declan is definitely not someone that I could have prepared for. He’s not a testosterone-fueled, immature boy. He’s a confident, arousing, playful, and mind-melting man. But, behind that sexy charming smile, I know he’s hiding a secret. And, in order to break him, I’m going to need to find out what it is... 

Zeke is the final installment of the Declan Brothers series. I recommend that you read the books in order as there is quite a bit of overlap in the storyline. The series focuses on three brothers down in the Texas Bayou, and three girlfriends who are in town for the summer for the sole purpose of breaking the infamous Declan brothers.

Zeke is the youngest Declan brother, seen around the bayou as a ladies man with his list of rules for who is allowed in his bed. No virgins, no sleepovers, no second chances. We learn in this last book that this is all an act which Zeke is using to protect himself for his tortured past. However, Zeke's rules slowly start to be broken from the moment he meets a red-headed English teacher named Lurlene.

Lurlene has come to the bayou with her two best friends. Unlike Emmie and Rayna, Lurlene doesn't have a history in Galveston County, she is just along for the ride. Literally. She is tagging along to take care of the pesky problem of her virginity, and she has allowed her friends to talk her into losing it to the best lay in the bayou (aka Zeke Declan). However Lurlene quickly sees pasts Zeke's facade to the deeper, more intelligent, and damaged boy hiding behind the scores of women.

The romance in this story unfolded fairly nicely. I liked that Lurlene was not going to put up with Zeke's BS and allow him to push her away. Zeke's past really was heartbreaking, and I totally understood the issues he had with people getting close to him. Unfortunately this story seemed to pass by so fast that I was left wanting. The substance of the story was good; I just wanted more of it. There was also quite a bit of space used to introduce Lurlene's brothers, who are apparently going to be the focus of a new series. The brothers sound very interesting, so I hope those books are longer so that we get to spend more time with them.

Dirty Pleasures is the second book in The Dirty Billionaire Trilogy. Dirty Together, the conclusion of this filthy trilogy, will release on 1/12/2016.

Dirty Pleasures picks up where Dirty Billionaire left off. When Creighton does show by the designated time that Holly needed to leave for Nashville, she takes off leaving nothing but a note saying "Goodbye Creighton." The story picks up with Holly flying coach back to Nashville and the tabloids speculating on marriage trouble in paradise.

So we all know that Crey has messed up and is going to have to chase after her to do some groveling. I was okay with that. I would have been ticked off that he forgot about me too - especially if I made it clear that something was very important to me. After the whirlwind of the first book where things were just getting going, I was looking forward to further character development in this book. I really wanted to know more about Creighton and wanted to get in his head and learn all his dark and dirty secrets. He no longer came off as a shallow douche in this book. He was more attentive to Holly and was chasing her around the tour doing things for her. As nice as that was, I am still waiting to fall in love with Crey. I don't know anything about his business or his past or his family. What's up with his uncle? Did this Annika bitch break him? I wanna know him! I hope we can get into his head and heart in the final installment, Dirty Together.

In my review of Dirty Billionaire, I thought the meat of the story would be happening in this book. This one was actually a quicker read and while there was less sex, I didn't feel like there was more substance. It seemed like we got the surface of the story, but not a lot of the deeper details I was hoping for. I would have been interested to read the conversation between Holly and her mom. I think that would have been an opportunity to hook me back into her character emotionally, but it faded to black.

I knew Holly was a runner after Dirty Billionaire, and I understood her reasons. After the fist book, I was on Team Holly more than Team Crey. However, I was hoping that her flight instincts would have deserted her once Crey came groveling. He showed up and did all the right things in this book... but Holly is still a runner. I didn't understand her panic or insecurities. So now I am firmly on Team Crey, and Holly will have to do a lot to redeem herself in Dirty Together.

Despite the shadows he walked in, once there was a blinding light fracturing the darkness. It brought the promise of hope and happiness. He’d been careless, filled with pride and stupidity and lost that light. Ripped it from the world. 

Now, the shadows are dimming again. Aly King surges into his life threatening to pull him from the darkness. She is everything Ransom can never be again. Her light feels too warm, promises him that there is more waiting for him beyond the shadows. 

But the shadows are relentless, resurfacing when he thinks he is safe, and Ransom knows he must keep Aly from them too before he pulls her down into the darkness with him.

For me, Eden Butler excels at writing new adult characters. If more characters were written like hers, I would read more of this genre. Her characters are mature and well-reasoned and don't make me feel like an old broad reading about young kids. And let me tell ya, I don't need anything else to make me feel older!

Now, this is the second installment of the series, but is not really the continuation of the original story, Thin Love. At first, I wasn't sure how I would feel about that. Thin Love was one of my 5 star reads for 2015, and I was a little worried that a sequel (so to speak) would pale in comparison. I mean, Keira and Kona were like an epic love that I just couldn't get enough of.

I knew my love was so thick, that what I felt for her then was something I didn't just want, but something I needed. Even when I pushed her away, even when I was so scared of what she did to me, even when I spent years laying in bed at night wondering if that feeling would ever go away, I knew no one would give me that. There was only ever her. No one does love like Keira.

But of course I didn't need to worry, and I realized really quick once I started reading that while the epic couple were still around, they were not going to overshadow Ransom and Aly. Instead we still got to see the loving and supportive and playful side of the parents, while focusing on the coming of age of the son. Unfortunately, not long after the big wedding in My Beloved, something tragic happens in Ransom's life and he has been wandering through life, lost, ever since.

"Ransom, you can't live like this." "Who the hell said I'm living?"

Ransom's back story is heartbreaking. You don't find out exactly what happened right away, so to avoid spoilers, I'm not going to discuss it here. But Eden does such a good job at character development, that you feel the heartache and love right along with the characters. The level of detail and inner monologue really let you get to know the players on a deeper level, and I absolutely love that when I'm reading. So I went on this roller coaster ride along with Ransom and Aly, and I still haven't come down from the ride.

Aly was an admirable heroine. She's a survivor, strong and persevering. Her passion for dance lept off the page much like Keira's music did in Thin Love. I loved her determination to help Ransom find his way back from the darkness, and that she didn't throw some immature hissy fit when he wasn't all she needed him to be. She never gave up on him. And this is what I mean about Eden's new adults... while these characters were 20 y/o and younger, their youth and immaturity does not overpower you while you are reading. Yes, there is angst - but it's a mature angst. (Is that even a thing? Can angst be mature? Well Eden makes her angst mature and that's a good thing... particularly for us readers over 30.)

Love was louder than logic.

I enjoyed riding along for this epic story with Ransom and Aly. It's a heavy tale of love, loss, friendship and family. And my smutty little heart wouldn't be happy without the sexual tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. Those dancing scenes were the sizzle that kept me on edge until our couple smoked up my kindle screen.

Your mouth makes me think the worst... best... filthy things.

There was also some character crossover in this book from Shadows and Lies. So if you have started that series, you will probably remember Timber, Missy and Summerland's Burlesque Review. As always, I love these stories set in New Orleans and Eden always make me feel like I could see one of these characters walking down the street here.

Now, the epilogue. I admit, that at first I was stompin' mad. It was just so unexpected and out of left field that I was totally blindsided. And yes I ranted and railed for a bit. But now I have let myself calm down and I'm not mad any more. The story isn't over. That's a good thing. I am looking forward to spending more time with Ransom and Aly... seeing how they have grown and changed and matured. So I take back all my curses that flew in my moment of shock. Sorry Eden!
