Stackin' the Shelves #44 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. It was a slow week for the book acquisition aspect of being a reader... but a busy week reading.

Here's what went on my shelf this week. Have you read any of these - or do you plan to? Did you pick up anything exciting this week?

Stackin' the Shelves #43 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I still have nothing exciting to report. Prissy is halfway done with her obedience school, and so far she will only perform for treats. LOL. I also got my new phone (luckily before I got frustrated enough to throw my Note4 in the Mississippi). So I have been playing around with my new Samsung Galaxy Note7 this weekend. The real test will be whether its easier to blog from when I am traveling for work! Such a pain, blogging on the road.

Stackin' the Shelves #42 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. Not much is happening w/ me personally this week... just rain rain and more rain. We haven't gotten any flooding (yet) in New Orleans, so hopefully it stays that way. My heart goes out to our neighbors in Baton Rouge, Covington, Denham Springs, etc.  If you are in that area, drop me a line and let me know how you're doing!

Stackin' the Shelves #41 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I'm starting to think about my next signing and deciding what books I want to buy - or whether I will make another autograph book. I'm super excited for Nola Storycon - so many freaking good authors! And it's local so yay! Plus, my book bestie and blogger Deanna from Deanna's World is coming to visit from Australia! So its gonna be a staycation for me.  Anyone else coming to Storycon?

Stackin' the Shelves #40 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I am slogging ahead on the reading schedule... still only reading about 3 days ahead right now.  Oh what I would give to get a month ahead! That being said - I am having a really good reading week. A few that were 4.5 stars and up! I hope that lasts for a while. Not much going on personally this week. Prissy a/k/a the Holy Terror and I start obedience classes tomorrow. I am looking forward to it - I hope she picks things up quickly!

Stackin' the Shelves #39 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I am still trying to get ahead on my reading schedule - I'm reading now for 3 days ahead so its slowly but surely working.  I have hit another snag though. I developed a problem with my vision over the past couple weeks. Now, I have always had better than 20/20 vision, so it was really noticeable. This was a boon because I made an appointment with the optometrist fairly quickly. The optometrist referred me to an ophthalmologist, who said I must see a retina specialist/surgeon right away. So within 3 weeks, I had a diagnosis and treatment plan for choroidal neovascularization (CNV). This is a sudden onset of macular degeneration and, left untreated, can result in the loss of vision completely within a couple months. This is a scary diagnosis for a blogger, because the prognosis isn't great. Many people lose their ability to read... I think that is what upset me the most.  But, we have a started a treatment plan - which is like torture. The treatment involves injections into the eyeball every four weeks. They are horrible for a person like me - someone who can't even stand to put drops in their eyes. But, it is what it is. The treatment will hopefully slow the degeneration. There is a very small chance this is something different and less serious - central serrous - so that is what I am praying for.  However, we couldn't take the chance it was the more serious one and not treat it.

Stackin' the Shelves #38 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I am still trying to get ahead on my reading schedule - I don't think it will ever happen.  We did a shopping excursion with Lil' Miss Priss today as a reward for her doing much better this week w/ the separation anxiety and potty training. Here she is modeling her new clothes:

Stackin' the Shelves #37 and Weekly Recap

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I have been MIA for a few weeks. I had to say goodbye to my beloved furbabies, which was a very sad time for me. Lucky and Dopey spent 16 long years by my side, and I miss them everyday.  Then I had to travel for work, and had houseguests... and got very behind on my reading schedule.

Stackin' the Shelves #36 and Weekly Update

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. I didn't have a lot going on this week. I am behind on my reading schedule, so I am just really trying to catch up. So this is what I was up to blog-wise this week. Did you one-click any of these... or have you already read them?

As you can see - I went on a Kristen Ashley kick. I am adding the audible editions to all my ebook copies... at least where the audible version is $1.99. I am doing a re-read in audio of her books starting in June and I am excited to see how some of my favorite stories are performed!

Stackin' the Shelves #35 and Weekly Recap

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. Not a whole lot is going on this week, The furbabies are having a better week.  They insist on waking me at 6:30 every morning.  So I decided to take us on a walk yesterday morning while it wasn't Hot as Hades out.

While the pups get excited to put their leash on and go out the door... they find the experience better in theory than practice. We didn't even make it a block before they were done. I had to coax and cheer them on for the last section of the block because they were about to drop.  This is Lucky's "OMG I'm Dying over here" face.

Maybe we will try half a block tonight after sundown... so that means just to the corner and back. Look out - here we come! So that is what's going on with me. And below is what's going on with the blog. Thanks for stopping by and please shoot me a comment below to let me know what you are up to or what's on your shelf!

Stackin' the Shelves #34 and Weekly Recap

Welcome back bambinas!
This is Stackin' the Shelves, the weekly feature where I showcase all the books I have accepted for review, one-clicked, won or borrowed from the library. Not a whole lot is going on this week, I have been going through the ups and downs of elderly dog health and care. Dopey was having the problems last week, and he improved to about 75% overall. But I tried to wean him off pain meds the last day or two, and he backtracked a bit.  So it looks like we will be continuing pain meds for a while. Lucky is maintaining her status quo at about 80%. Its at the point now where I have to start keeping a quality of life chart for them daily just to make sure I am not holding on to them when it would be better to let them go on to the Rainbow Bridge.
