From the New York Times bestselling authors of the Masters of Ménage series . . .

They are the Perfect Gentlemen of Creighton Academy: privileged, wealthy, powerful friends with a wild side. But a deadly scandal is about to tear down their seemingly ideal lives . . .

Maddox Crawford’s sudden death sends Gabriel Bond reeling. Not only is he burying his best friend, he’s cleaning up Mad’s messes, including his troubled company. Grieving and restless, Gabe escapes his worries in the arms of a beautiful stranger. But his mind-blowing one-night stand is about to come back to haunt him . . .

Mad groomed Everly Parker to be a rising star in the executive world. Now that he’s gone, she’s sure her job will be the next thing she mourns, especially after she ends up accidentally sleeping with her new boss. If only their night together hadn’t been so incendiary—or Gabe like a fantasy come true . . .

As Gabe and Everly struggle to control the heated tension between them, they discover evidence that Mad’s death was no accident. Now they must bank their smoldering passions to hunt down a murderer—because Mad had secrets that someone was willing to kill for, and Gabe or Everly could be the next target . . .

The Perfect Gentlemen series will follow a group of powerful men who bonded with one another at an elite prep school some twenty years ago. Their power status runs the gamut from the President of the United States to the CIA to corporate moguls. They are fodder for the paparazzi and the object of feminine desire.

In this first installment, Scandal Never Sleeps, a member of the group, Maddox Crawford, has been killed. The gentlemen come together to lay Maddox to rest and uncover the truth about his death. It is this situation that brings together our first couple, Gabriel Bond and Everly Parker.

Gabriel is one of the corporate moguls, CEO of Bond Aeronautics. Gabriel has been named interim CEO of Maddox's company, but because of some family drama and because Gabriel's company built the plane that Maddox crashed, he is also the lead suspect in Maddox's death. Everly had a special relationship with Maddox Crawford, the rumor being that they had an affair as this is the only reason they will believe for Everly's quick rise to the top as Maddox's head of IT Security. Everly grew up as the daughter of a cop, but her penchant for hacking got her in trouble on occasion. The job from Maddox was really a dream come true for Everly, and now that her mentor is dead, she has to worry about what the future holds.

The relationship between Gabriel and Everly starts off hot and heavy in a weekend fling with neither party knowing who the other one is. Things turn rocky and stay that way once all is revealed. But once both Gabriel and Everly are in danger, they start working together to solve the mystery. The mystery aspect was done fairly well, even if it was a bit predictable, I still enjoyed the suspense. I actually liked the relationship between the band of brothers more than I liked the romantic relationship. Gabriel and Everly were fine in and of themselves, but I just didn't feel it between them as a couple as much as I would have liked. The sultry factor was mediocre, not quite up to the level I am used to seeing from Shayla Black and Lexi Blake.

I think my favorite of this group of illustrious gentlemen is going to be Conner Sparks, the dark and dangerous CIA Agent. Luckily for me, Conner's book, Seduction in Session, is up next. I did this book in audio, so I'm going to read the next one to see if that allows me to connect to the story a bit more.
