Tony goes for broke and asks Aimee out and hell breaks loose shortly after as they end up in a hostage situation with their students and an angry, lone gunman with nothing to lose.
Stoker packs a lot into this novella and the execution is well done! I liked that Tony and Aimee (I keep wanting to call her Aim) were on relatively equal footing, both ex-military and protectors for the small charges entrusted into their care. While their romance wasn't able to be completely fleshed out, it was just enough to make this reader happy!
The hostage situation with the students was handled well considering -in reality- the subject itself hits close to home for many and is a touchy, sensitive topic. Stoker doesn't treat the situation lightly by any means-this is fiction remember-yet she had my heart racing uncomfortably for a brief period!
Assisting Aimee is short but definitely not lacking in delivery! This story is enjoyable with a slight edge of suspense-definitely worth reading.

Julie is a transplanted military brat that now calls the Midwest home with her own romantic hero, daughter and two furbabies. While she toils the day away in a medical office, she would really rather be reading! Julie loves historical romance, steampunk, romantic suspense, military romance (duh!), paranormal and urban fantasy. She loves a kickass take-charge heroine, lots of action, and the all-important HEA. Julie can get down with an alpha male, but she does not discount a nerdy hero with a sexy brain.
Julie and Bambi met at the RT Convention where they found themselves standing in many lines, sharing their similar reading interests, and fangirling over attending authors.
