It's hard to believe that we are at installment #47 of the In Death series, it feels like I just met Eve and Roarke yesterday! I don't know what I will do when this series comes to an end, it will definitely be a time of mourning!

In this installment, Eve's investigation delves into a series of suicide bombings that appear to be for monetary gain. Eve and her team are racing the clock to find the puppet masters before they can add more deaths to their tally. The story of how the bombings were accomplished was particularly cruel and raised various questions... particularly just how far would you go to save your family? What kind of leverage could be used against you? Is one life more important than another? I couldn't imagine being put in that situation.

As always, the investigation was on point. Eve and Peabody created a good foundation and, when Peabody goes to a special event, Roarke steps in and helps Eve wrap everything up. I love it when Eve and Roarke work together. They have the best dynamic, and he really is the perfect man and hero. He compliments Eve so well, and their relationship has grown and strengthened so much over this series. Though, as we see in this story, those small insecurities can still rear their ugly head at times. The insecurities and fighting isn't the norm for our couple, so this added a different dynamic to the story. While I have never thought Eve or Roarke perfect, its nice to see that their relationship isn't always perfect either.

Our normal cast of characters is present, some more than others. But you will definitely get some Peabody, and a little McNab. Nadine, Mavis and Bella have small parts to play, as does Feeney and some of the e-geeks. Fans of the series will not be disappointed.
