Infinite possibilities….
Infinite passion…..
Infinite danger….

His touch spirals through me, warm and sweet, wicked and hot. I shouldn’t trust him. I shouldn’t tell him my secrets. But how do I not when he is the reason I breathe? He is what I need.

At the young age of eighteen, tragedy and a dark secret force Lara to flee all she has known and loves to start a new life. Now years later, with a new identity as Amy, she’s finally dared to believe she is forgotten–even if she cannot forget. But just when she lets down her guard, the ghosts of her past are quick to punish her, forcing her back on the run.

On a plane, struggling to face the devastation of losing everything again and starting over, Amy meets Liam Stone, a darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants is Amy. Refusing to take “no” as an answer, he sweeps her into a passionate affair, pushing her to her erotic limits. He wants to possess her. He makes her want to be possessed. Liam demands everything from her, accepting nothing less. But what if she is too devastated by tragedy to know when he wants more than she should give? And what if there is more to Liam than meets the eyes?

I just love Lisa Renee Jones. She writes mature characters (no matter their age), great suspense, and super steamy sexytime! Her stories are always paced well and it seems like you have finished them in the blink of an eye. Escaping Reality is no exception. I liked this first installment of the Secret Life of Amy Bensen so much that it is putting me off my reading schedule... I just have to read the 2nd book right away!
Money breeds lies, baby. They swim like sharks all around me.
"Amy" is on the run. We aren't quite sure from what, but its extreme and causes near-paralyzing fear for our heroine. Jones did a great job with the fear imagery and had me experiencing the paranoia, flashbacks and blackouts right along with Amy. I am also just dying to know what she is running from and uncover all those juicy secrets that she is hiding.
How high you stand isn't as important as how magnificent you are.
Our hero, Liam Stone (awesome name) is a reclusive billionaire with secrets of his own. But what good is a broody hero if he is not also a handsome talented billionaire? None! So of course Liam is all of those things and more. This tall, dark, sexy, smart architectural prodigy is utterly magnificent both in bed and out. Why can't I bump into one of his ilk on one of my business flights. Le sigh.
Yes. I want to go to your room. I need to, ah...lick your tattoo good-bye.
From the moment Liam and Amy's paths cross, it's like an invisible string is pulling them together. The chemistry leaps off the page and I felt like I was Amy and getting sucked into those long hypnotizing gazes. While the romance was quickly established, it wasn't the type of instalove that me groaning and rolling my eyes. There was a weighty feel to the attraction, desire and overall relationship... but I honestly feel like that is common in Jones' books. With this author, I know I don't have to worry about flimsy interactions and wimpy whiny characters. And I have yet to meet one of her heroes that couldn't feature prominently in my romantic fantasies.
I know that when things feel out of control, you think you need control. But sometimes, having a safe place to give it away is the best way to block everything else out. I'm asking you to let me show you I'm that safe place.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars / 3 flames.
